Autism Society of Florida

The Autism Society of Florida is an affiliate of the national Autism Society and strives to assure full participation and self-determination in every aspect of life for each individual. AutismFL offers avenues for self-advocacy and advocating on behalf of others in a way that values equity, respect, dignity and diversity in all Florida communities.

UCF Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD)

Part of the University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orlando metro area, provides provides support and assistance with the goal of optimizing the potential of people with autism and related conditions. The CARD website provides information that connects families to federal, state and local agencies, support groups, and training on how to work effectively with individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), dual sensory impairment, sensory impairments with other disabling conditions, and related disabilities.

UCF CARD services include:

• Programmatic Consultation and Technical Assistance

Dan Marino Foundation

The Dan Marino Foundation is a non-profit organization that partners with Miami Children’s Hospital to create the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Dan Marino Outpatient Center. The center is a comprehensive evaluation and treatment center for children with autism and other special needs.

Autism Society of Greater Orlando (ASGO)

ASGO was founded in 1996 by a group of volunteer parents to better assist families of children and adults with autism in the Central Florida area. The mission or goal of the ASGO is that all individuals within the autism spectrum will be provided a lifetime network of opportunities to become fully accepted, included, and actively participating members of our community, through family support, education, advocacy, and public awareness. 

With hundreds of member families, ASGO is one of the largest and oldest local Autism organization in the state of Florida. Provides education and therapeutic services to individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) residing in Miami-Dade/Broward Counties, targeting with communication deficits and/or behavioral challenges, and who may require training in self-help skills.

Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD)

APD is a Florida state governmental agency that works in partnership with local communities and private providers to assist people who have developmental disabilities and their families. APD also provides assistance in identifying the needs of people with developmental disabilities for services.

Florida Diagnostic & Learning Resources System (FDLRS)

FDLRS provides diagnostic, instructional, and technology support services to district exceptional education programs and families of students with disabilities. Service centers include centers across FL that directly serve school districts in the areas of Child Find, Parent Services, Human Resource Development (HRD), and Technology. In addition, the FDLRS Network also includes 6 Multidisciplinary Centers who focus on in-depth evaluations and several statewide projects offering specialized services.
