Arizona Autism Charter Schools (AZACS)
AZACS is Arizona’s first tuition-free, autism-focused public charter school, serving grades K-12+. They offer a range of programs including in-person, online, and hybrid options across several campuses in Central Phoenix, West Valley, and Tucson. The school aims to serve all levels of the autism spectrum as well as students with other learning differences.
Autism Academy for Education and Development (AAED)
Since 2013, AAED has been providing an environment for learning tailored to students with autism, across Metro Phoenix and Tucson areas, including an online campus. Their approach includes the use of adaptable curriculums, small group instruction, and a variety of specials to keep students engaged. They focus on students’ measurable growth in academics, behavior, and socialization.
Autism Spectrum Center for Educational Neurological Development (ASCEND)
Located in Prescott, ASCEND offers K-12 education and adult services for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related disabilities. Founded by parents of a child with autism, ASCEND focuses on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles, aiming to provide a life of dignity for those they serve.
Gateway Academy
Located in Phoenix, Gateway Academy caters specifically to students with High Functioning Autism, using an educational approach backed by years of research. They emphasize the importance of providing a safe and respectful learning environment where students can feel heard and supported, aiming for their independence and success both in school and in life.
LEARN Academy
Formerly Chrysalis Academy, LEARN Academy is a state-approved private day school in Scottsdale for grades K-12+ in Scottsdale. LEARN Academy offers a comprehensive ABA-based education for individuals on the autism spectrum, and provides a range of services including speech-language therapy, music therapy, and vocational training, emphasizing individualized behavior plans and a low student-to-staff ratio to cater to each student’s needs.
PS Academy Arizona
K-12 that offers customized programs to meet each student’s specific needs. They focus on helping students with autism and other exceptionalities to thrive by providing an environment where they are grouped by ability, not age, and can engage in clubs, activities, and electives. The school promotes developing social and academic skills in a collaborative environment.
Red Oak Autism Academy
This East Mesa-based academy focuses on providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for students with autism. They offer educational programs that include individualized instruction, small group instruction, and specialized therapies, alongside extracurricular activities to promote socialization and community involvement.
Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) Schools
Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI), a division of FullBloom, is a premier provider of standalone day schools and in-district classrooms in many states. It provides education services for K-12 students who require additional educational and behavioral supports to overcome challenges that impede success in a traditional school setting.
A clearing house of resourceful information specifically pertaining to individuals and their caregivers as related to ASD and other mental health conditions.
